I can't believe it's been 6 weeks, my tiny human is 6 weeks and is already out of newborn clothing. They say times flies by quickly with a baby and to enjoy them every minute you can, and we certainly are.
Getting into a routine hasn't been that hard. Morgan at first would get up every 2-3 hours to feed, and moved onto 3-5 hours and now sometimes 6 hours. Waiting for when she goes throughout the night.. the waking up and going back to sleep is getting to me.
Personality wise, she's a pretty chill baby. She hardly cries unless she's hungry or needs a change and the occasional want to be held. She's a mix of both of us when she sleeps with her hand placements and open mouth. She's also a bit vocal in her sleep which is absolutely adorable with her little coos.
With her having her own instagram (@sweetlifeofmorgan), and me being a photographer and my love of just staring and watching her, I've been getting her used to being in front of the camera. So far no problems, though I need to get her to smile more for photos. She's just getting more smiley lately, especially for grandma and mommy in the morning.
Bath time has become better. Aside from my back killing me every time I bend over the tub, I had no idea what I was doing. She's a strong little girl and fights me when I try and clean her winkles and under her little double chin. But after a few times, she now loves it, especially when she tries to eat the water.
She has met most of her family on both sides and loves going out for our daily walks when daddy comes home from work and we walk the dog. She's gotten used to how bumpy brooklyn sidewalks are and enjoys just staring at the two of us and the sky.
How are you doing?
Well, I'm exhausted.
They say sleep when the baby sleeps. Pfft haha.. yeah.. sure. I do.. in the morning. Morgan will get up around 6-7am.. maybe 8 if I'm lucky. I'll bring her into the living room. Change + feed her and she'll fall back asleep. If Im tired, I'll take a nap on the couch and feel 10x worse than when I woke up.
I actually give Kevin kudos for getting up early to walk the dog and go to work at 6am when he gets up with me and makes her bottles while I change her in the morning. I'm actually dreading going back to work. Not the working part, but actually getting up early and having to go. And thats IF I have a morning shift.
Aside from being tired, I have very little energy due to not having the appetite to eat anything and getting slightly nauseous either before or after eating. Its really annoying. I went to eating almost five meals a day with snacks in between to only eating twice.. sometimes three times if I have to go somewhere in the morning to avoid passing out from the heat. It's a struggle really, and I hope it passes soon. But I am back to doing photo shoots, but trying to limit myself so I don't overwork it.
Well, I guess this wraps up this update!
